One of Watermark’s existing client contacts approached us to secure an interim Human Resources Director for their Australian and Asia-Pacific regional business. The client was a large international manufacturer and marketer of identification solutions, safety materials and graphic solutions.

The brief:

The brief was to source an experienced interim Human Resources Director who could step into the senior role to cover a maternity leave, as well as add some senior expertise in some critical areas of change, growth and restructuring. The interim was required for a minimum of seven months and have the flexibility to stay on longer if required.

Watermark’s solution:

Watermark provided a short-list of available interim candidates within forty-eight hours of the receiving the brief with relevant senior HR functional expertise. The background of the interim candidates also fulfilled the short term key deliverables of re-structuring, the ability to manage a large diverse workforce, from blue collar through to executive, as well as embrace and supporting the culture that had been developed within the business. The successful candidate had previous experience in a similar industry but not the exact same, therefore adding tremendous value in terms of “casting a new eye” over operations.  This enabled her to have an immediate impact within the business and bring about change in a dynamic yet empathetic way.

The outcome:

The interim associate has successfully brought about positive change, stability to the team and has had a positive impact on the culture of the business in their interim HR Director capacity.
