Expressions of interest sought for Chairs and State members

Joint regional planning panels (regional panels) operate across six regions covering metropolitan and regional areas of NSW. The regional panels provide independent, merit-based determinations of regional development and advise the Minister for Planning on planning matters in the region, including rezonings, or perform functions conferred on them by the Minister.

Panel members are required to have expertise in at least one of the following: planning, architecture, heritage, the environment, urban design, land economics, traffic and transport, law, engineering, tourism or government and public administration.

Expressions of interest are sought for the following positions:

  • Panel Chairs (four) for the Hunter and Central Coast, Southern, Western and Northern regional panels. Ref no. 67880
  • Panel members and alternates (24) for Sydney West, Sydney East, Hunter and Central Coast, Southern, Western and Northern regional panels. Ref no. 67883

Candidates will be required to demonstrate:

  • Senior level experience in dealing with multiple stakeholders
  • High level communication skills
  • Capability to drive high profile outcomes in a credible and authoritative manner
  • High level analytical skills
  • Knowledge of the assessment of complex envelopments and planning matters.

Candidates requesting consideration as a Panel Chair must also have:

  • Demonstrated experience in corporate governance issues
  • Sound leadership expertise and demonstrated ability in chairing public hearings / meetings.
