NSW’s future growth… powered by infrastructure and urban renewal?

Jim Betts

JimJim Betts is the Chief Executive Officer of Infrastructure NSW, an independent statutory agency that provides specialist advice to the NSW Government on infrastructure investment and prioritisation.

Jim joined Infrastructure NSW following five years as the Secretary of the Victorian Department of Transport and four years as Victoria’s Director of Public Transport at the Victorian Department of Infrastructure.

As part of his role at Infrastructure NSW, Jim led the development of more than 80 recommendations to Government of critical infrastructure for NSW — set out in the State Infrastructure Strategy Update 2014. Jim is Chairman of Infrastructure Investor Assurance Committee, reporting to Cabinet on High Profile/ High-Risk projects while providing oversight of almost 400 projects across government registered in the Infrastructure NSW assurance database. Since the establishment of Projects NSW in 2015 Jim has also been responsible for the delivery of a number of the state’s infrastructure priorities, including the $3.4 billion Darling Harbour transformation.

During his time in Victoria Jim was involved in the delivery of the $38 billion Victorian Transport Plan, the overhaul of Victoria’s legislative framework to integrate the planning of transport and land use, and overseeing construction of the $4.3 billion Regional Rail Link project.

Marg Prendergast

MargMarg Prendergast has been appointed to lead the Coordination Office to oversee traffic and transport during the transformation of the CBD and other key areas in Sydney with various major transport projects and property redevelopments. Marg also oversees real time operations with responsibility for the Transport Management Centre.

Marg has qualifications in economics and town planning with over 30 years’ experience in transport including; data analysis, transport planning, safety, project management and the delivery of capital programs, operational initiatives and events.

Marg was Operations Planning Manager for the Olympic Roads and Transport Authority for the Sydney 2000 Olympics and managed the City precinct during Games time.

Marg has spent the last decade focused on safety initiatives and was the General Manager of the NSW Centre for Road Safety.

Sandra Dodds

SandraSandra leads the Urban Infrastructure business at Broadspectrum which includes Telecommunications, Construction, Power and Water. Sandra’s team of over 3,000 people are located throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Sandra has been the Chairman of the TW Power Services Limited Board since 2014.

Sandra joined the Roads Australia Board in 2015.

Sandra was previously CEO of Downer’s Asia business and has had several operational and finance roles as a member of the Downer Executive team.

Sandra has a Bachelor of Commerce from Otago University in New Zealand and is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.
