The Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) provides research and knowledge of Australia’s tropical marine estate required to support growth in its sustainable use, effective environmental management, and protection of its unique ecosystems. Now is a fantastic time to join the Institute, under the guidance of an exceptional CEO and a revamped organisation structure. Leadership capability, collaboration, performance, are core requirements as the Institute grows and is committed to addressing Australia’s significant national and environmental challenges.
This role will form an essential part of the Institute’s Senior Executive Leadership team managing a $140m budget, and multiple anticipated capital projects in the order of $150m to $250m, the CFO will champion transformation throughout the organisation.
The ideal candidate will evidence a substantive finance background in strategic planning and the development of corporate plans. Demonstrate experience in the development and implementation of organisational wide audit and risk management programs alongside experience in managing complex government corporate functions including finance, people and culture, and legal services.
This opportunity would suit someone wanting to make a significant positive impact within the marine environment. There is flexibility with location the preference being Townsville, followed by Perth.
